With one week to go here are the Mid-American Conference standings:
2009 MAC M Basketball Standings
East Division
Buffalo 10-4, 18-9 overall
Bowling Green, 10-4, 17-11
Akron, 9-5, 18-11
Miami, 9-5, 16-11
Kent State, 8-6, 16-13
Ohio, 7-7, 14-14
West Division
Ball State, 7-7, 13-14
Western Michigan, 6-8,9-19
Northern Illinois, 5-9, 10-17
Central Michigan, 5-9, 9-18
Toledo, 4-10, 6-23
Eastern Michigan, 4-10, 6-23
If the tournament ended today, here's how the seedings would look:
No. 1: Bowling Green
No. 2: Ball State
No. 3: Buffalo
No. 4: Akron
No. 5: Miami
No. 6: Kent State
No. 7: Ohio
No. 8: Western Michigan
No. 9: Northern Illinois
No. 10: Central Michigan
No. 11: Toledo
No: 12: Eastern Michigan
Ohio would play the No. 10 seed Central Michigan in the first round of the tournament. If the Bobcats won that game, they would play Ball State. The Cardinals are the No. 2 seed because they would win the West, automatically qualifying them for the second seed.
